Various
Terms Regarding the 8-Ball Pool Game are
-
1. Closed Table Shots - Here ball types
is decided by the shot. You will have
that ball whch you will sink. The rest
is same as the open Table.
2. 8-Ball Shots - An 8-Ball Shots occurs
when you have pocketed all the shots
of the group. You must call Pocket when
attempting to pocket the 8th Ball.
3. The Break - The break is the initial
shot of the game, when all 15 balls other
than the cue ball are "racked" into
a triangular formation. On the break,
it is impossible to pocket either the
cue ball or the 8-Ball. To be a legal
break, at least one ball must be pocketed
or at least two balls beside the cue
ball must hit a rail. If the player who
goes first fails to make a legal break,
the balls are re-racked, and the other
player gets to break.
4. Open Table Shots - Open table shots
occur after the break, but before that
it is determined that who has the Solid & who
has the Strip. On an open table shot,
you may hit the cue ball into any ball
except the 8-Ball. If you pocket a solid
ball, you become solids and the other
player becomes stripes & vice-versa.
